This girl has a sweetness to her nature that is matched by her height. Very curious, she often comes to our sides as we are out working in the pen with her. Currently the tallest on our ranch, she has a fleece that exhibits wonderful structure, brightness and softness. When she was shorn this year (April 9, 2017), the shearer was very impressed with the fleece!
Our plan is to breed her to our own herdsire “Coup de Foudre de Snowmass Touché.” She came to our ranch unregistered and unfortunately was not taken to show. We’re very excited to see what she can produce here at Aubrey Oaks Alpacas! Good size and bone structure from both should be an excellent cria.
Her sire is MISTY RIDGE ANDRAJO’S BOGOTA who only showed once, placing first in 2007 at the AlpacaFest West in Halter in the Full Fleece Huacaya Light Male as a Juvenile. Her dam—a dam we call “Callie” for short—is actually the offspring of our mentor’s first Alpaca, but was born after they sold her. She is INVINCIBLY HOT TO TROT; Callie comes from the Spanish “Caliente”, which translates as “Hot!” Callie ribboned at a couple of shows in 2009-2010.
