Storm has taken our small venue of shows by storm! 9 Blue ribbons in his first three years of shows. One Color Championship awarded to him as a juvenile in a class of 14 greys! A “Best Handle” Blue Ribbon for his fleece entry in the 2017 TXOLAN Alpaca Spectacular. Wow. Just wow!
His color is absolutely unique. The AOA Show System Handbook defines a grey as, “typically a mixture of colored fibers in a wide range of shades.” It also adds, “The prime fiber may be a consistent shade of grey.” Well, that is what he is. His color has been described by an experienced nationally known Grey Owner/Breeder as “RARE!” Some judges have seen the black, brown & white fibers, but we only see grey! We just couldn’t be happier!
He has unbelievable coverage, from his head to his toes. When he picked up his first color banner, the judge said, “…yes, there are eyes in there!” His fiber has not ceased to grow all over his body. It maintains a shine that is dazzling! And soft? Well, he won the 2017 TXOLAN Best Handle Blue Ribbon in the Cottage Fleece show! The walking fleece judge at MOPACA in 2018 said that he has a wonderfully soft handle!
His frame is a balanced and strong moderately sized Alpaca for his age. His topline is perfectly straight. His bite, typey head, and proportionality are top tier traits.
He is truly gentle and can be hand-led without a halter. He won two more blues in 2018 at TXOLAN in the performance ring while only training with a family friend who was a 7th grader for 2.5 weeks. Extremely approachable, he will be in the 2018 AOA National Show’s Selfie booth as well as being very popular at the 2018 MOPACA Show.
He has now won a total of 12 Blue Ribbons! He was awarded a Blue Ribbon in Halter his final two shows as a mature entry—3.5 years in a class of 3, and 2.8 years in his final show at TXOLAN.
Aubrey Oaks has obtained his multiple banner sire, Irish Meadows Peruvian Flashpoint (Flash.) His multiple Blue Ribbon dam is our own Porteus’ Perfect Cadence (Cady.) Strong genes have given us a tremendous Alpaca! We hope for many more from this same pairing.
